Fly Drifters of Utah descriptions

Jason Haslam (utahflyd) wrote - The "middle" Weber River is one of our favorite rivers to take our clients to because of the solitude and crowdless waters. The middle section, between Echo and Rockport Reservoirs, is a great fly fishing river and has many of the characteristics that the Provo River has...minus the crowds. This Blue Ribbon stretch of river can be tough at times but the rewards of catching a large trout are always worth it. The middle section has roughly 10 miles of prime trout water, maintained by natural reproduction, and is artificial flies and lures only. Since this section is a tailwater we're able to fish it year-round. The majority of the time we catch Brown Trout and Whitefish mixed in with some nice Rainbow and Cutthroat trout. (08/16/10)
Jason Haslam (utahflyd) wrote - Originating from high in the Uinta Mountains the Provo River is one of the best Blue Ribbon fisheries in the state. With its large abundance of aquatic life and large numbers of fish it is no wonder people come from all over the US to fish this premier trout fishery. Native Cutthroat, along with wild Brown and Rainbow trout provide anglers of all skill levels with a day they won't forget. Our experienced guides have spent years learning the waters and have mastered the Provo. We consider the Provo River our home water. (08/16/10)

Jason Haslam (utahflyd) wrote - The Middle section of the Provo River, located between Jordanelle and Deer Creek Reservoirs, is second to none when it comes to tailwater fisheries. With constant flows and water temperatures, the 11 mile long Middle section provides a year round fisherie that will suit all angler skill levels. With the abundant aquatic life, this section of river is the perfect breeding ground for a healthy trout fisherie and is known as one of the best tailwaters in the west. This section also averages over 4000 fish per mile of which the majority are fiesty Brown trout mixed in with a few Rainbows, Whitefish, and Cutthroat. It features classic fly water with runs, riffles, slicks, and deep pools; the perfect fly fishing river. (08/16/10)
Jason Haslam (utahflyd) wrote - Flowing out of Deer Creek Reservoir, the Lower Provo is the most fished section and most productive section of the Provo River and it is no secret why. Only 45 minutes from SLC airport and 25 minutes from Park City and Provo, we can have you on the water throwing flys to eager trout in a short time. With prolific hatches of Blue Wing Olives, Pale Morning Duns, Midges, Caddis, and a variety of Stoneflies throughout the year, the Lower Provo can keep the most experienced dry fly angler wanting more. Combined with it's beautiful canyon scenery and perfect fly fishing water, the Lower Provo should be a destination of every fly fisherman who visits Utah. With fish that average 14-18 inches with many fish that push into the 20's, and average 4000 fish per square mile, you will not walk away from the Lower Provo disappointed. (08/16/10)
