Hosted Saltwater trips to the Bahamas, Mexico and Montana/British Columbia. Here in Western New York we are blessed with some of the best freshwater fishing in North America! The steelhead, brown trout, & lake-run rainbow trout fishing in the tributaries of Lake Erie provides anglers with world class action during the spring and fall runs. These fish range from 4-12 lbs and offer great sport to fly anglers. The best part is that these fish are found in beautiful places. If you put a premium on catching fish in beautiful, unspoiled surroundings, come fish with us. Western New York has many wild, secluded streams where you can fish in solitude and enjoy nature. It’s not uncommon to see bald eagles, deer, turkey, and fox while fishing under the canopy of old growth forest. We have access to many areas that are lightly fished, and we also have private property located on Cattaraugus creek in Zoar Valley where the steelhead fishing, as well as the scenery, is inspiring. The fish start entering the Cattaraugus in September, with October & November being the prime fall months. The fishing remains excellent well into December as long as the stream stays ice-free. The other Lake Erie tributaries also turn on in October and November, and provide a good alternative to the Catt for those seeking a change of pace. The spring is also a great time to catch steelhead in Western New York. March thru May finds our area streams full of both fresh fish and ones that have completed their spawning ritual and are dropping back to the lake where they'll spend the summer. The fresh fish, as well as the "drop back" fish, are hungry, very aggressive, and are excellent fighters. They love to chase streamers! If you're coming in from out of town, stay at our fully equipped streamside cabin on Cattaraugus creek in Zoar Valley. The cabin sits on 60 quiet & secluded acres. There is a huge covered deck out back to grill & eat your dinner, watch the soaring bald eagles & enjoy a cocktail. Great steelhead fishing is just a short walk from the cabin. The two story cabin is fully equipped. It has a full kitchen, living area, and full bathroom on the 1st floor. There’s a fridge, range/oven, microwave, toaster & coffee maker. Coffee is provided, as well as all cooking pots/pans, plates and utensils. There are couches and a coffee table in the living area, along with a large tv with dvd/vcr and some videos for relaxing. The covered back deck is equipped with a picnic table & propane grill. The second floor is divided into two bedrooms, with a bunk bed and two single beds in one bedroom, and a full size bed in the other room (5 beds total), as well as a fly tying bench & vise for those who like to tie. There is also a small collection of various fishing works and fly fishing magazines for guests to read. The cabin is fully insulated and heated. There’s a fire pit out back for night time bonfires right next to the creek, with plenty of firewood. The cabin is open all winter and available for diehard winter anglers, or for those who just want to get away from the crowds for a weekend. Ellicottville and Holiday Valley Ski Resort, with great skiing and other outdoor winter activities, are 25 minutes away. CABIN NIGHTLY RATES NOTE: During October & November the cabin is only available in conjunction with fully guided fly fishing trips Rentals are for Fly Fishing, Catch & Release only. $100 for one person, $35 for each additional person, up to five people. Affordable Bonefishing on the Islands of Eleuthera & Acklins in the Bahamas We offer budget fishing packages for anglers desiring to fish for bonefish on Eleuthera or Acklins Island, in the Bahamas. Our budget trips are great for cost-conscious fishermen and they provide outstanding fishing opportunities. Bonefish, jacks, snapper, barracuda and sharks are just some of the fish you’ll see, all while wading and fishing from shore! Hiring a local guide for one or more days is highly recommended, as it will allow you to see the most remote areas, and their guidance and knowledge of the local fishery is invaluable. What's Included: Packages include beachfront lodging, all meals, and vehicle rental on Eleuthera. A vehicle is not necessary on Acklins because you are staying on a great bonefish flat, with many more productive flats easily accessible by canoe/kayak--more than enough to keep you busy for a week! (If you want to do more exploring, a car rental can be arranged) We do the work and take care of the planning for you. You are not roughing it on these trips. Everything is taken care of for you, so you're not wasting valuable fishing time finding the best flats, preparing meals, cleaning your room, or worrying about those things. We make all the arrangements, provide you with tide charts, maps, advice on where to fish, and we’ll tell you what to bring and what not to bring. Besides fishing, there is world class snorkeling, shelling and the Islands of Eleuthera & Acklins. The Bahamian island of Eleuthera is over 100 miles long with an average width of less than 2 miles. It’s inhabited by approximately 10,000 wonderfully friendly Bahamians. On its east side is the Atlantic ocean, and on the west side the aquamarine waters of Exuma sound. Even though Eleuthera is less than an hour flight from Florida, it could be another world away. Development has not yet marred this beautiful Bahamian family island. There are no malls, high rises or traffic jams. Life moves at a more leisurely pace here. Acklins Island is one of the quieter islands of the Bahamas, and has a population of under 400 people. Acklins Island is approximately 50 miles long and between 1 and 6 miles wide. If you want to get away from it all, Acklins is the place for you. Along the atlantic, or eastern coastline of Acklins are numerous hidden coves with extensive, beautiful beaches and a number of tiny, colorful villages. Nice bones can be found along many of these deserted beaches, along with barracuda, sharks and other reef fish. There are also many fishing opportunites on the bight side of Acklins, and exploring this area could take a lifetime. Hiring a local guide to explore the bight side is a very good option. The Fishing Acklins & Eleuthera both have hundreds of miles of fishable flats and beaches on both sides of the island. The tides on each coast of both islands vary by about 2 hours, so it is possible to fish the best tides on both sides of the islands in a single day. The fishing is good on the flats and in the surf as well. The fishing options are varied. You can walk the beaches and hunt for bonefish feeding in the crashing surf, or cast out to the coral reefs for jacks, snapper and barracuda. You can fish immense sand flats, or go for tailing bones in beds of turtle grass peppered with orange and red starfish. If you like fishing mangrove areas, Acklins island has many, and tailing fish are very common. You can blind cast in deep blue channels for a mixed bag of species. You can just go for a swim.
