Quiet Fly Fisher reports

Mike james (quietflyfisher) reported - 1 - Excellent fly fishing: The report today is for Fishcreek Res'
on Boulder Mountain though as some may know ther are close to 80 or more lakes on the Boulder Mountain in Utah that contain awesome fish and fly Fishing.

the cutthroat are 16 to 20 inches in lenghth and fat as hams.
watch the shore line and inlets for groups of crusing fish. you then want to get a midge out in front of them and watch closely for the take it will be really soft, it almost has to be a visual experience in order to catch them.
Flies to bring with you on the Boulders
Nymphs: Zebra and Disco Midge. bead head.
sz. 20 to 14. you will also want your standards such as Hares ear, and prince nymphs ect.
Drys. there is a hudge Black midge hatch on the lake in sz. 22s to 18's
there are also some caddis and a handful of march browns. (05/30/09)
Mike james (quietflyfisher) reported - 1 - Excellent fly fishing: SPRING IS COMMING...
The Fremont yields some really nice fish in the spring, both the lower and the upper are runninng clear at the most productive locations, the water temperature is on the rise and the stone fly nymphs are on the move, with the rise in temp's the ice has started to go out on millMeadow res' with this the big browns move to the mouth of the fremont in search of these tasty morsels
as well as the other good forage to be had. a bugger in brown or black works really well at this time of year when allowed to sink then puleed away quick from the bottom, the strikes are quick so be on gaurd, we also nymph the inlet
with hares ears and midges and did fair.
the farther up the river you go the more the fish key in on the stone fly nymphs and will travel for them making for an exciting day. typicaly
the fish get smaller the farther you move up away from the res's but there are still some nicer fish in the deeper pools up high that spawned there and have spent the winter there wating for releases from the upper reservoire to free them. they are really agressive and can be alot of fun o catch.
the lower fremont should be picking up again as the temperture climbs, use a bugger or nymph th e lower slow and completly befor moving on to the next hole, the fish are there and they are large. (03/03/09)
Mike james (quietflyfisher) reported - 1 - Excellent fly fishing: Quiet Fly Fisher Guide Service/Fly Shop 296 west 300 South Loa Ut. 84747. Tel: 1-435-836-2319 www.quietflyfisher.com Hi Guys, Late Fall is here, and fast aproaching is some of our most action packed brown and brook trout fishing... The fremont will soon be at winter flows and the Big Browns will be out in force as well as the Big Brook trout on both the Boulder Mountain and the local streams like the Fremont and Seven Mile, and Millmeadow areas. the DNR has reported MillMeadow as having one of the Largest Natural spawned Brown trout fisherys in The State this Year, that coupled with some great Brook trout this year, things are leading to possibly one of the best years yet. we Fish these water in to mid November so if you can stand A little cold you will be rewarded with some of the nicest fish the area can offer. Not only dose the Brown trout and Brook trout waters pick up but some great Tiger trout and Splake and Cutthroat fishing arrives too making one quickly forgetting any cold, but truthfully the weather throws out some pretty nice weeks if you time it right with temp's in the 50s and 60s!!! not to bad for Late October and November. We want to thank all who have fished with us this year so far and would love to see those interested in trying to make it for the Brown and Brook trout runs, Let us know soon if your interested in making it so I can plan for you. Thanks Again. Mike James. Quiet Fly Fisher. (10/14/08)
Mike james (quietflyfisher) reported - 1 - Excellent fly fishing: The Time for the Fremont is Fast approaching with cooler temp's and the farmers shutting water off the browns will be comming out of the wood work. expect a promising outlook past the 15th of Oct. (10/10/08)
Mike james (quietflyfisher) reported - 1 - Excellent fly fishing: Fly Fished yesterday on U.M Creek again. It was A perfect day in 1 and half hours we caught over A dozen Beautifull Cutt's the biggest being around 15 inches the smallest around 8 inches. (12/30/08)
Mike james (quietflyfisher) reported - 1 - Excellent fly fishing: Quiet Fly Fisher Guide service southern Utah fly fishing Report: Hi Guys. The fly fishing this last Month has been fantastic. The biggest being this 32 inch Tiger Musky. Pictured. This is A once in a life time opportunity to Catch these Toothy Monsters... I had my 4 year old Son Jasper with me and he kept Yelling "Dad! It's A huge Python!!!" I caught two of these after finally realizing that 25 pound test was not going to work, Had to use about 50lb test before they wouldn't just cut through the line like butter. Even still, once hooked they darn near spool you with A most impressive HARD RUN!! one of the best I have ever had.... Then to top it all off on the way back to the Car Jasper slipped!!! Both feet going in the Water, he was terrified that one of those huge fish was going to eat him!!! Note The way I'm fishing for these will only last this year you must get here before the end of September if you want to try your luck at one of these Beasts!!!. U.M Creek. The Fishing has been amazing up their, Perfect Dry Fly conditions... A hopper Fished right along the seam lines in to the Grassy Banks is pulling a lot of great little Cutt's and a few very nice tiger trout. SEVEN-MILE CREEK: Again a little slice of Dry Fly Heaven... You will want plenty of Hopper patterns up this time of year... some favorite colors are Green. Tan, and Black. A SZ. 12 royal Wulff is a lot of fun to. BOULDER MOUNTAIN: The crowds are gone.... And the Baetis hatches are in full swing... Spent the whole day alone on several lakes up there A hopper on the Surface was A excellent way to Go with fish coming in almost every cast.... If you can make it the time for the Boulder Mountain is now.... The Brookies are nice and fat as well as the Cutthroat. OTTER CREEK RES: I Stopped on my way home and Fished right at the Spill Way for 30 minutes... I was alone which was odd for that place... However I used my deep Nymph Rig and caught 5 fish in the time I was there Biggest ran 4 12 pounds the smallest was nearly 2 pounds it was well worth the look. My flies were Hares hear and Prince. TOP FLIES FOR YOUR BOX IF YOU COME. Hopper Patterns Sz 12.... Prince Nymphs bead head. Sz 1416 and 18. Hares Ear.... Sz 1214 and 16 Adams both Parachute and Standard Sz. 1214. Streamers are just coming in to their own as well Buggers in Green and Brown Sz. 68 should cover it.
