Green River reports

Phil Erickson (philerick) reported - 1 - Excellent fly fishing: Just returned from 5 days on the Green. Fished both "A" & "B: sections. Tuesday very strong winds all day long, gust to 45 mph. Nymphing excellent in AM, switched to drys as heads began to appear. Thursday had a strong BWO hatch with heads all over the river. Saw one Cicada, so expect them shortly. All in all great fishing as usual. This was my 14th year on the Green for BWO's. (05/08/10)
Jamie Carlin (T-Boner) reported - 4 - Poor fly fishing: Fishing was slow. Virtually no quality fish. River looked spectacular. Incredible weed growth. Like a giant spring creek. The Pseudoclones (tiny BWO's #22-24) came off heavy just as expected, but almost no fish on them. Years past would have been dozens of large fish rising in riffles, slicks, and flats. The river was high, but clear, with weed growth to match water levels. No debris to indicate erratic fluctuations. Aside from a few ugly hatchery Cutt-bows and small browns, the fish were just not there. We've been meeting this hatch on and off for years. It's been more and more disappointing every year. Does anyone know why the river and fishing is in such decline? The conditions could not have been better. (10/10/09)
Robert Van (robtb2) reported - 2 - Good fly fishing: This weekend was the guide river clean-up and went very well although the river was fairly clean (as the rafters have not made it out in abundance yet). The levels are now on the decline and the fishing has been OK to good from what I hear, this weekend it fished particularly well with streamers and a little midge dry fly action. The river and the fishing are only going to get better as the cicadas hopefully make an appearances (could be 3 good years in a row).

Thanks and fish on,
Charlie Whitehouse (cwhitehouse) reported - 2 - Good fly fishing: Sun=fish on this river at this time of year. Very good dry fly fishing. Streamers OK. Didn't bother nymphing... (10/18/08)
Brad Lovejoy (dryflylovejoy) reported - 1 - Excellent fly fishing: The Green is on fire, Cicadas are on the way out but the yellow sallies and PMDs are startin to pop. (07/11/08)
Steve Zamora (Stevez) reported - 2 - Good fly fishing: Fishing was fair at best Saturday after they increased the flow. Sunday was much better as the debris lessened. Good hatch around 1:00PM. Great Dry Fly action for an hour and 1/2. (12/30/08)
