Shoshone River (Lower) reports

Tim Wade (North Fork Anglers) reported - 2 - Good fly fishing: Flows dropped today to normal winter levels of 350 cfs. (11/12/09)
Tim Wade (North Fork Anglers) reported - 2 - Good fly fishing: Flows have dropped to 1200 cfs. Water conditions turned from clear and fishing well to muddy and slow fishing about a week ago when the Absaroka/Beartooth Mtns with a series of thunderstorms. Surprisingly, the rain event that hit the lower North Fork of the Shoshone 'whistlef' through Buffalo Bill Reservoir and has impacted water clarity on this popular tailwater. We hope this changes soon because the browns, rainbows and cutts were eating flies regularly before the rain event.

Tim Wade (North Fork Anglers) reported - 2 - Good fly fishing: Flows have dropped to 1400 cfs. This is great news for those of us wanting to fish the lower river. Streamers, sow bugs, San Juan worms, Ptails, caddis pupae, and golden stone nymphs will work well at this flow.

Tim Wade (North Fork Anglers) reported - 3 - Fair fly fishing: Flows have been raised again to 3000, which has knocked a lot of moss loose in the process. Buffalo Bill Reservoir turned over 5/20, creating muddy water in the Shoshone tailwater. We are unsure how long this condition will exist with the current runoff situation upstream.
