East Newton Lake reports

Tim Wade (North Fork Anglers) reported - 3 - Fair fly fishing: Please take note! Water temperatures have climbed into that zone where release mortality can occur. Fish early or late and get the fish into the net quickly for a safe release.

If you can't do that, do the fishery a favor and long-distance release (break them off) the fish!!

If you love E. Newton's big fish, forget fishing there mid-July through the end of August, when the water temperature and the associated stress is less likely to result in a dead trophy trout.

If you think you can catch and release without killing a trout, these are the hatches: Callibaetis, damsels, long horn caddis, traveling sedges and tricos.
