I fish the North branch above Lovells. This stretch is a great place to introduce someone to fly-fishing. The stream is wide and shallow with a gentle current. There are prolific hatches of caddis all three seasons (spring ,summer and fall) Brook trout are abundant with browns mixed in. Stream improvements the last few years have increased the average size of the fish. Access to this stretch is very good. There are two fishermans paths along twin bridges road and you can also access the stream at twin bridges as itcrosses the river. I frequently fish from the path close to the bridge and fish downstream to the path close to the town of Lovells. It is about a three hour fish if you fish slow and you can walk back to your car along twin bridges road, about 3/4 mile. I have viewed eagles above the river and deer along it's banks. <br>This stretch is a catch and keep stretch of river and is fished frequently so I do incourage catch and release. (1/19/13)
