I camped at Piedra Blanca campsite which is about 2.5 miles up from the Sepse Creek trailhead last weekend, March 11-13. The stream is really beautiful. I had 3 wt. rod, but didn't even see a fish. Which part of the creek is good fishing? I think I needed to be on the lower portion of the river. (3/15/11)

Piedra Blanca creek does have fish in it, but the bite can be very different from the Sespe. I have had good luck with a grey hackle yellow, and with the black flying ant pattern with the brown abdomen on Piedra Blanca. The Sespe is very water-level sensitive. It is best fished after it has come down from winter high water and before weeds choke it out. Do not ignore pocket-water fishing on the open runs without holes. Watch the side creeks for temperature differences after it gets hot. (2/15/13)
