Brian's reports

Brian Minich (minich83) reported - 3 - Fair fly fishing on the Clarion River, Pennsylvania
The water has been low and warm. With the rain the past few days the water came up a little and was a little stained. Managed one nice brown on a streamer today. Fishing will not be good again untill the water cools down. (08/23/10)
Brian Minich (minich83) reported - 3 - Fair fly fishing on the Allegheny River, Pennsylvania
Water has been warm and small stocked fish have been the only ones really bitting..With the cooler temps and rain, look for some of the bigger fish to become more active. Also, some big streamers may not produce many fish but you may get some big ones. The bigger Browns and Rainbows are feeding on the fingerlings as much as the bugs! (08/23/10)
Brian Minich (minich83) reported - 3 - Fair fly fishing on the Allegheny River, Pennsylvania
Because of the rain they are releasing more water from the dam. In the next couple days you will not be able to wade fish. When it comes back down the fishing should be good again. No real hatches yet but the nymph fishing has been great. Any caddis nymphs with beads especially with peacock in the body have been working great. (04/27/10)
Brian Minich (minich83) reported - 1 - Excellent fly fishing on the Clarion River, Pennsylvania
With the rains on Monday the river should be fishing good with streamers the next couple days and prior to the rain the caddis were coming off like crazy. We still should be seeing some good hendrickson action too. (04/27/10)
Brian Minich (minich83) reported - 3 - Fair fly fishing on the Lake Erie Tributaries, Pennsylvania
Guided on the east side tribs yesterday. Creeks were pretty icy and fishing was slow. Managed to land 4 nice steelys. Hares Ears and small sucker spawn worked best. (12/31/09)
Brian Minich (minich83) reported - 3 - Fair fly fishing on the Lake Erie Tributaries, Pennsylvania
The late week rain brought up the east side tributaries to a descent level. Still it was not enough for a great run of fresh fish. There were however enough that came in to keep it consistent throughout the day. Need more rain to get the streams high enough to blow the gravel out of the mouths again. (11/21/09)
Brian Minich (minich83) reported - 2 - Good fly fishing on the Cattaraugus Creek, New York
Fishing is good if you keep at it and move around to find fish. Early morning on the past few sunny days has been the best. Swinging streamers has been the best tactic for me. (11/15/09)
Brian Minich (minich83) reported - 1 - Excellent fly fishing on the Lake Erie Tributaries, Pennsylvania
Lots of fish in the streams with the rain that we have had. More rain this morning will make the creeks high and muddy again but with great fishing to be expected once the creek go back down! (10/31/09)
Brian Minich (minich83) reported - 1 - Excellent fly fishing on the Cattaraugus Creek, New York
Fished the Catt yesterday. Landed a dozen nice steelies in the morning. Mostly before the sun got bright. Creek had great flow and good color. Yesterday and last nights rain are going to have it high and muddy for the next few days. I'm hoping to get on it again on Thursday.

Anything white seemed to do the trick! (10/24/09)
Brian Minich (minich83) reported - 2 - Good fly fishing on the Lake Erie Tributaries, Pennsylvania
Still need more rain. Streams have a descent amount of fish but low clear water make for tough fishing conditions. Still, double digit hookups can be expected. (10/14/09)

must be a real tough decision on what species to target. what weight switch rod do you use on those pigs? (4/30/11)

I see that you have the allegheny river on the waters you fish. I was wondering if you have ever fished the tailwaters of the allegheny? (4/30/11)
