Jim Landis (bigfly) reported - 2 - Good fly fishing on the Truckee River, California
Blue skys cause the flows to go up, and the water temp to drop.
Small windows of BWO's.
Crossing isn't an option lower in the canyon. (04/24/10)
Jim Landis (bigfly) reported - 1 - Excellent fly fishing on the Truckee River, California
Bigger water now, slightly green.
The lower in the canyon you go, the less likely you can cross.

Jim Landis (bigfly) reported - 2 - Good fly fishing on the Truckee River, California
Things are picking up.
Skwallas are out mid canyon.
Find a riser, make it happen.
Blind fishing with a bobber is still a little slow, try the soft water on the edges of the shore. (03/22/10)
Jim Landis (bigfly) reported - 2 - Good fly fishing on the Truckee River, California
Gotta say it is getting better.
Many bugs in the siene, fish moving around.
Water is a bit off color, but that is to our advantage. Overcast cond. are fishing best, bright sun is tougher. (03/04/10)
Jim Landis (bigfly) reported - 3 - Fair fly fishing on the Truckee River, California
Overcast days seem best.
Have met a few leader breaking fish.
Very feisty. (02/27/10)
Jim Landis (bigfly) reported - 3 - Fair fly fishing on the Truckee River, California
Bright sun, clear water, spooky fish.
Think small, no bling. Very fast takes!
Very fast rejections too! (02/14/10)
Jim Landis (bigfly) reported - 3 - Fair fly fishing on the Truckee River, California
Timing is the challenge, smallish mid-day window. Fish are eating other times , but mid-day is best. (02/11/10)
Jim Landis (bigfly) reported - 2 - Good fly fishing on the Truckee River, California
Little winter stones showed yesterday.
You can fish them dry in the

I have fished with Jim and after spending just a few minutes with him it felt like I was fishing with an old friend. Jim improved my casting and knowledge of the river. Book a trip with Jim Landis! (4/30/11)

Jim, you told me to send a private message, I did that, wondering if you got it? (4/30/11)

I've learned more with Jim in the last three trips than my entire fishing career combined. He really helped me put it all together and makes time spent on the water more productive and enjoyable. Thanks Jim and when can we go fishing again? (4/30/11)
